Section 15

Section 15 is located in the northwestern part of the site, on sloping terrain which is difficult to access. Until the expansion of the cemetery in 1926, it was the outermost part of the cemetery and therefore used for burials of mostly indigent Jews. In the upper part, the graves are scattered high on the slope in the woods as far as row 30. The oldest ones are from the early 20th century; others are from the period of World War I and the following years. Many of the graves are those of the victims of epidemics, or of refugees who arrived in Bratislava from Poland during World War I and shortly after. Many graves have no gravestones. The graves in the lower parts of the section are from the 1920s and 1930s.
